A Time To Kill - John Grisham

A Time To Kill had been keeping me under its spell for the past two days. That explains its pace. The plot and the story are equally good.A 10 year old girl is raped and battered by two drunkards. She comes home safely after they try to kill her by throwing her into a flowing river. These two get caught and are made to stand before the justice. The father of the little girl, Lee, kills the two drunkards in a brutal way within the premises of the courtroom. The story revolves around the trial that takes place to acquit or Convict this man.And let me tell you, Grisham has a nick to tell stories. The information he provides on the selection of juries and how lawyers have to play the "Bad Boy" role to get what they want and some thirst for publicity are simply superb. The Mind games played in the courtyard, The techniques that lawyers use to convince thier jury on their client are explained brilliantly. This novel deserves applauses and I am giving it nothing less.

My first book of Robert Ludlum and I am already a fan.An excellent story told by an excellent mind. What else can you expect , every detail to thje tiniest molecule with alarming beauty which calls for some claps.A clean script with a lots of twists and turns blended with adequate romance. The plot is neatly woven and I'll tell you, the web is too complex. You cannot predict whats happening. The author makes you speculaste only to say at the end that you were absolutely wrong. Its a bit big book but the content demands words and justice done.

THE MONK WHO SOLD HIS FERRARI -Robin Sharma

This book was recommended to me by my friends. At first i was reluctant to read this one. After some time, it began appearing in all bestseller lists. So i took a copy and started reading. Some might say that this book is a life changer which might look as being exaggregated but its totally true. As you go through this book , you will realise that all the virtues and all the strategies explained in the book are true to the bottom.Only that we are not following or that we had been ignoring all along. His theory about living the present is absolutely great. All his preachings and his hints move along the pages in the form of a fable that makes it more intresting. The most brilliant thing about the concept is that you can apply it everywhere and anywhere.Nothing is said that we didnot know or never heard of but the way in which it is said does the trick.

Again a Must read for ALL ages

ALONG CAME A SPIDER - James Pattreson

James Patterson's most chilling and most brilliant Psychopathic thriller ever. The Killer Gary Soneji, keeps us guessing all the time. The pace is as usual in the patterson scale. This time the killer gets more personal and challenging. What more can you expect than having a psycho who is finding every one inferior and killing people with ease and most importantly, without evidence and above all that challenging the police, FBI , anyone, andeveryone till he finds our man Detective Alex Cross.Once he finds someone to match his wit, he plays his mind games. Here, the credit goes to the author he has made it so original. One cant imagine the width of Patterson's imagination. He keeps coming up with stories that only he can imagine and what less can we give him than our hearty wishes and one copy of the book?.As all Patterson books are, this one is also a must read for any thriller lover.

1st to Die - James Patterson

James Patterson makes a statement, a powerful one with his novel, 1st to Die.

The plot, which is skillfully woven, makes this novel click. Every chapter has a twist. With Patterson trademark small chapters, that’s too much twist. But, they are skillfully plotted. Believe me, you think you’ve cracked the plot and suddenly, you realize that the plot has double-took you. I’ve gone through this more than a couple of times.

Gripping, Electrifying, Break-Neck are the words to look for if you are trying to explain this book. Especially towards the end , it switches gears , grips and rips you apart. So quick is the pace that I finished it at a single stretch.

There are murders, not simple ones but Newly-weds are being murdered or , to be more realistic, Slaughtered. As the number of murders increases, they become nastier too.

Lindsay, a SFPD Inspector, is assigned to the case. Keeping in mind, the hierarchy of command, she forms a separate group, unofficial, comprising of her friend, the medical examiner, Claire, Cindy , a reporter and Jill , a D.A. Together, they crack the case. Meanwhile, Lindsay suffers from a kind of Anemia which is draining her energy. Still she holds her shape to solve this case. She also develops a relationship with her partner, Chris Raleigh which is also keeping her in shape.

All the evidence from the crime scenes, the testimonies, the investigations, all lead to a single man, Nicholas Jenks, a famous Novelist with a big stature. He is arrested and taken to court and after all these, you’ll find yourself in the middle of the book only.

The suspense and mayhem continues when a faint thought arises in Lindsay’s mind “What if Jenks is being framed?” And from that, things start falling in place I am leaving a part of the cake for you to taste. And I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed.

To be frank, this is ONE HELLUVA NOVEL. Have you ever heard some one saying “thrilling to the final page”? Well, this truly is.

SPLIT SECOND - David Baldacci

Agents King and Maxwell join hands in solving the mysterious Kidnapping of a Presidential Candidate. In thier journey, they find out that its a lot bigger then what they thought. It will not allow you to sleep. The story is compelling. The authour definitely knows what the readers want , and he has given just the same. The way he describes details, the build up, the mindset etc. are impeccable. The story is a little predictabe though. But it compensates by unveiling our predictions quickly without delay, saying that "theres a lot more".A novel worth spending your time on.A splendid gift for any Baldacci lover.
